The Gombe State Community and Social Development Projects (CSDP) says it will spend N7.9 million to construct skills acquisition centre and provide walking aids to the Nasara Disable Group in Gombe LGA.
The General Manager of the CSDP, Alhaji Umar Ardo Kumo, disclosed this during the flagging-off of the project at the proposed centre.
He said the group solicited the agency’s support for the construction of a skills acquisition centre, toilets and purchase of walking sticks, crutches, and wheelchairs to assist their members in their day-to-day activities.
He said the total cost of the project was pegged at N7.9 million, which the CSDP agreed to contribute 95 percent while the beneficiaries will contribute the remaining five percent.
Earlier, Chairman of People Living with Disabilities in the state, Umar Ali Goro, commended the CSDP and the Senior District Head of Gombe, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abubakar, for their role in actualizing the projects.
