THE Kano State Government has described as mischievous attempts by the social media and online publications in the country to lift a story from a purported telephone conversation between Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Ibrahim Kabiru Masari regarding Ganduje’s political relationship with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Garba’s statement coincided with a press conference addressed by APC chieftain and political ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda, in Kano yesterday wherein he told Tinubu not to welcome the leader of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to APC or offer him an appointment. Garba explained in his statement that from all indications, some people who are not comfortable with the long cordial relationship Tinubu, Ganduje and Masari enjoy are bent on exploiting the situation to their advantage. He maintained that the governor and the President-elect have since realised this mischievous attempt to cause disaffection between them and would not allow their sound working relationship which has been waxing stronger, particularly at this critical time, to be destroyed by some self-centered individuals. The commissioner called on members of APC and the general public to disregard such attempt and remain calm and loyal to the party to ensure the successful inauguration of the President-elect.
